Hidden Bias Test

This is interesting, but I don't really understand it. I've taken three so far. The most interesting so far was my strong subconscious association between European Americans and Weapons. Only 1% of test takers have that association. I wonder if the Albanian thugs that hang out outside my building have anything to do with that. Or perhaps it's that I'm taking this test at my parent's house for Thanksgiving right now surrounded by white folks and electric meat carvers.

A project to focus on the creative process of giving and
sharing with others - detracting from the consumerism that
fuels the "holiday" seasons.

SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS:

In the "secret santa" style you will not know who is
making a gift for you until you get it..and you wont be making
a gift for the person that is giving you a gift..

E> you get the name/address of the person you will craft a gift for
F> send that person their gift package before Jan 1, 2004

RESULT: You get a gift from another participant, something
they made/created/constructed/etc.. you in turn will give someone
else something of the same nature..

Participants should be willing to open themselves up to
giving from the source of their talent as well as sharing
their postal address with organizer in order to be matched
up with a giftee, in turn everyone gets gifted.

This is open to anyone with a postal & email address -
anywhere in the world.

Old Dulupdates now included

Hey all, I’ve included some of the original e-mail dula updates. They show up in the archives for the most part… this is just for posterity and for those of you who may not have gotten them.

Hey all,

Well it has been a while since I have done a Dula Update. I’ve been quite technologically savvy lately. I’ve started a blog blog (or web log for those of you who are as unfamiliar with the terminology as I am) for my daily minutia instead of subjecting you guys to it the old fashioned way. This will mean more updates for those that want to see what I am up to, with out filling up the in-boxes of those who don’t. Not to mention less typing and less suspicion from the data processing department on why I am e-mailing so many people.

I am still, as always on a quest to update people’s address, e-mail, birthdays, phone #’s, etc. So please send it to me if you think of it and I will serve as record master for our circle of friends. It has helped people out recently. Or, if you are interested in the high tech, but still free solution, I have also stumbled across a site that keeps a network of people updated on personal information very easily and for free and it may keep me off your back as far as incessant requests for update information go. www.plaxo.com

Personally, I guess there is some stuff going on, mostly having to do with the financial crises I’ve complained about in past e-mails. The thing is that things aren’t getting better, so it may be hermit time for JD. I’m working on get more money easily schemes, if anyone has any ideas. I shouldn’t spoil the blog, for those who wish to read it, though.

The trolley is magical as ever, and I have seen a full cycle of the trees. The crew has changed, except for Beverly hills guy, but even he is less particular about where he sits. I’m taking a new trolley home and there are always very rambunctious and spirited people on it. There was a football debate that got the trolley driver doing eagles cheers over the loudspeaker.

Monday Night

I went to bed early last night after spending a quiet evening alone. It was nice to get laundry put away, the bed remade, the dishes done, the TV watched, and dinner cooked. I had some trouble sleeping because of the extreme heat caused by my new comforter (Even just covering one foot it is too warm. I'm sure I'll need it when winter really begins) and the fact that I went to bed at 8. Actually it was probably more the latter.

It gave me time to contemplate my financial dilemma some more. Conclusions drawn were that I should set myself some deadlines for working on painting and see if I can make money that way.

Also, it is time to start the inevitable and search for a new job. I guess I should wait until I have a full year of experience under my belt, but that is only a few weeks away. I can start the preparations of updating my resume. Perhaps telling my manager that I am looking for another job will also light the fire under my promotion request that is nearing two months since submission without a word of reply.

The drug stuff requires calling them and making an appointment. I still should do it someday when it is convenient, which may mean never.

Trials of a bourgeoning planner

Well my soon to be good friends called me back about drug testing at Glaxo Smith Kline. I would have to take half a day to get on their database and I would get $15. They said that tests pay upwards of $1000 for the simplest ones which would require me to take a about 2 days off of work. I’m not sure if it would be worth it.

I suppose I should try to catch everyone up. Despite the fact that I have a graduate degree and full time job, I may need to do drug testing on the side if I hope to make ends meet without going into credit card debt.

To put your minds at ease, I’m not planning on taking anything too radical or dangerous. I’m also helping humanity (according to the website www.phillytrials.com).

If you’d like to write me about it feel free. People keep telling me I shouldn’t do it, but I don’t see them paying my bills. I just hope my promotion goes through before I have three eyes and a jaundiced liver.

Well in typical fashion it took my quite a while to get on the ball with this thing... So the first letter inviting people to read my blog should be going out soon. It will probably read something like this...

I guess this will be the first installment of my web log (or blog for those of you who know little about the web terminology, like myself… although I guess I discovered this one so that may seem condescending, but it isn’t meant to be…. In fact let me strike all this and reverse the order). Anywho… Welcome to the first installment of my blog (or web log for those of you who are as unfamiliar with the terminology as I am). This will mean fewer internet updates for those of you that don’t want to look at the minutia of my daily existence and yet more frequent updated for those of you that do. Anyway, this letter has been in the works for quite a while, so perhaps my days of frequent updates are over in both web long and non-web log formats.
